Marriott Springhill Suites
Las Vegas, Nevada
The Marriott hotel tower is a 10-story, 197,927 SF tower and low-rise planned for construction. The 252 key tower has a 10th level that boasts conference rooms and a roof deck pool and bar with views of the Las Vegas Strip.
KEG provided complete structural design of the building tower and low-rise. Construction documents were completed in July, 2016 and KEG is now in conversation with the client and contractor regarding value engineering options.
Unique design aspects include cantilevered notches of the post-tensioned concrete slab that create stylish architectural flairs on three faces of the building, as well as clever pour-strip and tendon design to minimize slab thickness and cost with the long 34 ft bays.
The low rise contains a large two-story lobby, a breakfast lounge, a restaurant tenant space and additional conference rooms. Consistent with most Las Vegas hospitality projects, the low rise and high roof are of steel framed construction while the tower is concrete with post-tensioned slabs.
